Jund is a midrange deck named after the shard Jund from Alara block. Jund established itself early in the Shards of Alara/Zendikar standard season as “the deck to beat” and remained a strong deck throughout the season. The principle behind Jund is to generate card advantage while putting pressure on the opponent.

Why is Jund so good?

Jund is well-known for having a great sideboard, mostly because it has some bad cards game 1 against a lot of decks. The addition of Collective Brutality since the last time we had Bloodbraid Elf makes this deck so much better. We used to play Duress in the sideboard against combo decks and Burn .

the price has dropped and stabilized because its finally reached an equilibrium that reflects the actual demand. its gone down and may go down a bit more, but hardly on its way out of modern. goyf is powerful, but being what amounts to a vanilla beater means its potential for scaling as the card pool expands is lower.
